Workshops are a great way to learn and revise. They allow you to bounce ideas off other students, build confidence and help you recognise you are not alone. This is all accomplished in a safe, positive learning environment. There is no such thing as a stupid question – or answer!
In my workshops, we cover a topic ensuring everyone has an understanding of the subject and then we focus on pre-set exam questions. In this way you learn how to answer exam questions, whilst revising the subject.
Currently I am planning A level Biology and Chemistry workshops, as there is so much to cover. Plus learning has been seriously disrupted by Covid.
After Christmas, I plan to hold GCSE Science workshops. Please contact me, so I can add you to my email list. You will be the first to know when I start to offer them.
Why do I offer Science Workshops?
Every year, I run out of spaces in my one-to-one tutor sessions – there is only so much time in the day (or after school) – and I want to support more students in their learning and understanding.
I also realize that with the current issues with the cost of living etc, one-to-one tutoring, whilst specific to a student, gets expensive very quickly. Therefore my workshops are a cost-effective way of getting support and help with those tricky science topics. They are just £10 for the hour, including all materials and a replay link, and there are no more than 10 students in a workshop. This ensures that everyone has a chance to participate in a positive and friendly atmosphere.
Which exam board do I focus on?
Over the years, I have taught many different exam boards and experienced different exam styles – I have seen the disappearance and return of essay styles. Therefore, whilst I have worked with AQA mostly, I am happy to teach any exam board. Currently I am tutoring Edexcel and OCR. The content for all the exam boards is almost identical as OFQUAL dictate what should be included.
In the workshops, because I can be flexible, I ask everyone to tell me which exam board they are following. I provide questions for each relevant board to all the students so we cover them all.
One-to-one tutoring
I offer hour long 1-to-1 tutoring sessions through video conferencing. The lessons focus on the specific needs of the student. We cover topics in detail and look at exam style questions. The sessions are recorded for safeguarding purposes. There are a limited number of sessions available each week, so contact me soon as I have very few spaces left!
Join me through the science maze to reach your true potential and achieve your goals.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
