Outstanding Oxbridge Results

Why stop your child reaching their full potential, when simple changes and support are needed?

Real Life Story: GCSE C to A level A

Sally was one of my first students. She achieved a C at GCSE . In the 6th form she decided she wanted to be a physiotherapist. Instead of telling her that she would never achieve the A grade she needed, as many of my colleagues would sadly say, I actively encouraged her. She worked really hard and with my tutorial support she got the A grade. I did a happy dance to “House of Fun!” as Madness were playing at a local festival and we could hear Suggs singing his heart out in the distance. She is now a successful physiotherapist.
(Interesting note; I was Suggs’ godson’s form tutor a few years later).

Securing an A/A* in A level Biology is not about studying harder. It’s about mastering the mark scheme

You want your child’s medical or Oxbridge ambition to become a reality.

As a parent, you know how competitive university offers are. Medicine, veterinary science, and Oxbridge applications demand excellent credentials. Watching your child work hard, but is stuck at a high B or low A in mock exams is deeply frustrating. It may even keep you up at night with the worry.

Does your child face any of these hurdles?

  • They know the Biology content, but keep dropping a few crucial marks per question
  • Their offer depends on an A /A*, leaving little room for error in their essay.
  • You want peace of mind knowing they are being supported by an experienced tutor.

Then book an appointment to discuss your child’s needs.

Your bright child maybe getting tripped up by the specifics of the AQA mark scheme. The use of keywords matters.

A*s are NOT guaranteed

I wish I could but, unlike many tutors, I refuse to guarantee a grade I cannot. We can certainly try to control all the controllables, so your child has the best possible chance of achieving their dream.

An A* depends on:

  • knowledge
  • examination preparation and practice
  • know how to write a good essay
  • know how to answer the data questions – actually understand the stats
  • hard work by the student

We can work together to cover all eventualities both with knowledge, skills and home support, but sometimes it just goes wrong. That’s why I will never guarantee an A* but will help prepare your child to achieve it.

Tutoring is not teaching – it’s a discussion
